起動するように修正．vcsを起動しようとすると

といわれる．ライブラリが足りない模様．「SUNW_1.1.1」でググると，Matlabで同じような状況になっている記事が引っかかる．この記事を信用すると，どうやら，Solaris 9: Patch 111722が必要らしい．
そこで，SunSolveから，パッチ111722-05をダウンロードしてパッチを当てることに，ところが，patchadd 111722-05を実行するものの，

といわれる．logを見ると，

とあり，checkintallでこけているらしい，さんざん迷ったあげく，最終的にはここにあるようにパーミッションの問題だと気づく．がっくり．chmodして無事インストール終了．で，vcsも無事起動．
